This is the problem with flex queue in a nutshell, that people don’t know what to expect and what they will play against, while all wins, losses, kills and other factors, put you on the same ladder, while queueing alone or as two is a completely different experience than queuing as 5.

The system will then pick a solo player who is often left out of the voice chat, could get the blame more easily if it goes bad, since the other guys are friends, and it is simply not what the solo player signed up for, since the enemy team might be with a full stack. In theory, the queue should put teams that play with 5 against other teams that play with 5, but what happens when you queue as 4. The system than has a problem of putting you against a team with the same set-up. But the second issue that comes up, is that a lot of people have to queue with 2, 3 or maybe 4 people at a time. A lot of people have a problem with this, since playing alone or with a five-stack is a completely different experience and should be on different ladders. So if you play alone for all your games, or with five friends, you earn a tier on the same ladder as everyone else. If you manage to fill your entire Ranked Fortitude Bar, then you will earn two Ranked Marks for a win, and it is well worth it to use up all of your points to do so.Currently Riot has opted for Flex Queue for Ranked Valorant, which means that you can queue with whichever amount of people you want, and play on the ladder. But there are rewards for an abundance of Ranked Fortitude as well. This deduction is automatic and cannot be stopped, so you can't choose between sacrificing the Ranked Fortitude or giving up a Ranked Mark.

However, losing a match will remove half of your Ranked Fortitude points instead, meaning you will have to build up the fortitude gauge again to ensure more loss protection. This means if you lose a game, you won't lose a Ranked Mark. Once you reach the halfway mark on the bar, Ranked Fortitude acts as a buffer, activating Loss Protection. The perks begin when you fill the Ranked Fortitude bar halfway. But there is more incentive to play well than just losing your earnings. This is a big selling point for most players, which is why it is no wonder this game had almost three million downloads in a day. You can lose points as well for negative behavior. When you attain the Master tier, you will be shown which percentage of players you have ranked above, and once you reach Grandmaster or Challenger, you will see your actual ranked position on the leader boards. It is also important to note that after Diamond, the ranking is based on total Victory Points. You need to keep this number above zero to prevent your points from being taken away from you. Joining a ranked game will add a point to your activity score. The rate at which you'll lose Victory Points due to inactivity is based on a seven-point system. This prevents players from being carried to these more elite tiers by piggybacking on the overall performance of their teammates, as their stats will now hold them back even if their team won the match.

It not only calculates points on wins and losses but also on your performance throughout the match. Victory Points are a bit different from Ranked Marks in how they are awarded, as the reward system focuses more on the individual player's ability.
